Bodrum Castle

Inside the harbour of Bodrum, you can find the castle of Bodrum – also known as the Castle of Peter. The current building was constructed in the 15th century. However, the site is thought to have been fortified for at least 3000 years. Bodrum Castle can be reached by foot from the Bodrum Cruise Port in just 20 minutes. 

Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology

The museum of underwater archaeology is the biggest in Turkey, and is considered the best underwater archaeology museum in the world. The museum has 14 different sections to explore, exhibiting just about everything related to underwater archaeology. The museum is located a twenty-minute walk from the cruise port. 

Shopping and Souvenirs: Where to Find the Best Buys in Bodrum


There are plenty of places to pick up souvenirs or enjoy a little shopping in Bodrum. However, it’s often much cheaper to wander away from the seafront and into the cobbled streets behind to find better bargains on locally made goods. 

Bodrum city centre

The Port of Bodrum is located within the city, making it easily accessible even if you only have a few hours at the port. As a popular tourist destination, there are plenty of bars, restaurants, and clubs to enjoy, as well as many historical buildings and great shopping opportunities. 

Bodrum bazaars

 Bodrum is home to plenty of different bazaars where you can find locally produced textiles, handcrafted furniture and ornaments, food, souvenirs, and gifts. The largest in Bodrum is Turgutreis; however, the Grand Bazaar, Yalikavak, and the Bodrum Bazaar are also worth a visit.
