A new direct Metro service operates regularly from Athens Airport to Piraeus station on the Blue Line from early morning until just before midnight daily. The journey takes around an hour, with a ticket price of €10 one way and €18 for a return trip.
There is also a suburban railway station next to the Metro if you prefer to travel overground. The journey time is around one hour to Piraeus and tickets are approximately €9 per person each way.
The number X96 public bus departs from Athens International Airport to Piraeus cruise port. They run every 20-40 minutes (season dependent), and the journey takes approximately 90 minutes - however, do allow longer if travelling during rush hour. This is the most cost effective mode of transport with tickets averaging €6 per person one way, and children under the age of six travel free.
One of the most luxurious and stress-free ways to reach the cruise port of Piraeus Greece from Athens Airport is via a pre-booked private transfer. Many companies provide English speaking drivers and deliver little extras like maps and refreshments upon request. The journey time is similar to that of a taxicab and prices range between €60 and €70.
