How to Get from Airport to Palma de Mallorca Cruise Port

The historic city of Palma is tucked away in the southwest corner of the Balearic Island of Mallorca and located around 10 kilometres from the nearest airport – Palma de Mallorca Airport. Palma de Mallorca cruise port is easily reached from the airport via taxi, shuttle transfer or public bus.

Where is the Cruise Port in Palma de Mallorca

Palma de Mallorca Spain cruise port is located 6-8 kilometres from Palma’s city centre, home of the famous Le Seu Cathedral and a charming Old Town. The port can be reached by car or taxi from here via Avenida de Gabriel Roca along the waterfront.

The port is a busy hub for Mediterranean cruises with Costa, MSC and Sea Cloud Cruises departing and arriving here. Palma port has six cruise terminals in total divided between two areas.

The first is Muelle de Poniente which houses terminals 1-4 inclusive. Most cruise ships dock here, plus, there are passenger ferry services to the Spanish mainland and other Balearic Islands.

The second terminal is Dique del Oeste with buildings 5-6 inclusive. Usually, cruise liners will only dock here if the port is very busy, or the ship is a larger vessel. There’s a large shopping mall near the port entrance with places to dine and shop.

Luggage at the Palma de Mallorca Cruise Port

If you’re looking to store luggage at the port, passengers arriving in Palma can check their baggage and head off to enjoy the historic sites and landmarks of the city before flying home. If arranged in advance, some cruise companies will transfer your luggage to the airport.

Transportation from Airport to Palma de Mallorca Cruise Port

There are a few ways to reach Palma de Mallorca port from the airport. Taxis can be found outside the main airport terminal. The fare to the cruise port costs around €25-30, but it’s always worth clarifying prior to departure as some taxi’s operate on a meter system.

The journey time is approximately 20 minutes, and the same costs apply returning from Palma port to the airport.

Private Transfer Palma de Mallorca Airport to Cruise Port

It’s also possible to arrange a private transfer shuttle from Palma de Mallorca airport to cruise port. They are often cheaper for groups travelling together. The vehicle prices range from €25-30 for four people, to €37-40 for up to six people.

Bus from Palma de Mallorca Airport to Cruise Port

If you are arriving at Palma airport and wish to travel by bus to port of Palma de Mallorca cruise terminal, there are currently no direct public bus services.

The A1 bus will transport you from the airport, firstly to Passeig Mallorca in the city’s Old Town, and here you transfer to bus no. 1 at (stop 19) “Instituts” or (stop 20) “Jaume III”. This bus takes you directly to the cruise port and the cost for the entire combined trip is €8 per person.

If you’re travelling in the opposite direction from Palma de Mallorca port to the airport, hop on the bus at stop Estació Maritima (no.15) which takes you into the town. Disembark at the city centre stops as above and transfer to the A1 bus.

In addition, many cruise liners offer a shuttle bus service from the cruise port to Palma Cathedral for €12 one way, however, it’s quite a walk to the A1 airport bus stop, therefore, the public bus is probably a better option, particularly if you’re on a budget and short on time.
